Maintenance pages are pages in the TangoWiki that help keeping the TangoWiki tidy, rich of information and as consistent and complete as possible. Most of the standard maintenance pages are special pages and can be found at Special:SpecialPages, though underneath they will be listed in a different order. The list of special pages will vary from wiki to wiki according to the installed extensions.

Admins should gather their own special list of maintenance pages that they would like to check regularly. For a hands-on approach, the pages underneath have a direct call of how to act.

Info: It is good practice to add frequently used pages to your own user page for quick access.

User specific pages

Special:Watchlist: The personal watchlist of pages in the wiki. See also Help:Watchlist.

Special:Preferences: Shows the personal preferences of a certain user.

Special:Contributions: Will list all contributions of a certain user in the wiki.

Standard maintenance pages

Special:WantedPages: Extensive list of all pages not yet created in the wiki. No context, but some ideas of what could be needed.; Action: Find somebody to write content for the page.

Special:ShortPages: Action: Find ideas or people to expand these pages.

Special:DeadendPages: These pages do not link to other pages in the TangoWiki, hence, are missing internal links.; Action: Link the page to other TangoWiki pages internally.

Special:DoubleRedirects: Double redirects (a page redirecting to another redirecting page) shall be resolved, they are not very healthy for the wiki.; Action: Resolve redirects.

Special:AncientPages (or so-called "Old pages"): Action: Check if the information is still correct, if there is data-sensitive information.

Special:LonelyPages (or so-called "Orphaned pages"): Lonely pages are not linked to from other pages in the wiki. To put them into a context, they must be linked to from other pages.; Action: Find pages that can fruitfully link to this page.

Special:UncategorizedPages: Every pages should be at least in one category, otherwise it will be hard to find.; Action: Check the page and sort it into a – preferrably already existing – category.

Special:UncategorizedTemplates

Special:UnusedCategories

Special:FewestRevisions: These pages do not have many edits.

Special:UnwatchedPages: Every page should be watched by at least one person.

Special:WantedCategories

Category pages should be created if the category is not meant for temporary use only. (Usage works without creation of the page).

No action needed

Special:WithoutInterwiki: These language links are not used in TangoWiki.

Special:LongPages: Long pages are not yet a problem, if they are not created by spam.

Special:ProtectedPages: Overview over all protected pages in the wiki.

Special:UncategorizedCategories: At the moment, not many category hierarchies are established. They should generally be avoided for now.

Special:UnusedTemplates: Check if these templates are still needed. If not, a deletion might be useful to think about.

Special:UncategorizedFiles: Files are stored in Commons under commons.tangowiki.org. This special pages makes only sense there.; Action: Head over to commons and categorize files there.
