Edgardo Donato (April 14th, 1897 - February 12th, 1963) was an Argentine violinist, orchestra director, and composer. He is considered to be a relevant figure in the history of Tango. Template:Infobox Musician

Donato admitted composing his most famous tango, A media luz, during a trip on the tram. (ref. Todo Tango)
His tango Se va la vida had been originally intended for a soap advertisement. (ref- Todo Tango)
The 1933 film "Tango", in which Donato and his orchestra participated, was the first movie with full sound in the history of Argentine cinema (ref. Todo Tango)
