This template is used for a quote within a text.

It should be used in the following format: {{Quote|Quote text|Speaker|Source}}.

  • Quote text: The content to quote.
  • Speaker: The person or name of the source.
  • Source: The reference to the source.

There is no need to name the parts, but they need to be in the right order.

Make sure to see if the source references are called with <references /> somewhere at the end of the page. (Like at the end of this page).

Example

{{Quote|To be, or not to be, that is the question.|Hamlet (William Shakespeare)|William Shakespeare: Hamlet. The Arden Shakespeare. Third Series. Edited by Ann Thompson and Neil Taylor. Volume one. London 2006}}

This brings you:

To be, or not to be, that is the question.
Hamlet (William Shakespeare)[1]

Minimal version

You can leave out speaker and source and use only the minimal version: {{Quote|Quote text}}.

Only do so in contexts when it's clear you're not quoting somebody.
