Before creating, editing and commenting of pages is possible, a user account must be set up = registration. That's quickly done!

Create user account: The quick way
- Navigate to Special:RequestAccount.
- Choose a username and add your email address.
- Write some information about yourself in "Personal information" to start your user page. This short biography is required.
- Information added under "Other information" will not show up on your page and is only used for the account request.
- Request the account.
Once your account has been approved by an admin (SPAM-security feature), you will be sent an automatic password to your email address.
Create user account: The click-through
- Click on "Log in / create account" (top right). (You will be directed to Special:UserLogin.)
- Click on request one ("To obtain a user account, you must request one.") (You will be directed to Special:RequestAccount.)
- Choose user name and e-mail address.. Please think carefully when choosing your user name, it cannot be changed later on. Also take into account, that all user names are capitalized, the first letter will always be big: "user" > "User".
- Write your real name and a short biography in 50 words. (You can at first fill in the space with a dummy text and later on update it.)
- If you would like to provide additional information, you can go ahead and do it.
- Read and agree to the terms of use, solve the arithmetical problem and send out the form.
- Confirm your e-mail address through the confirmation link, that is sent to you per e-mail.
- As a next step, the administrator will confirm your account. Please allow at least 24 hours for this.
- Your temporary password will be submitted to you by e-mail, and you must change it automatically the first time you log in.
- Once you are logged in, you can get started.
Why do I need to give my email address?
Your login works with your user name and your password. The email address is not publicly visible, but is stored in the system for several automatic system notifications:
- Confirmation email for user account request
- Notifications of changes to pages you watch
- Password reset
Also, users can send other users an email via the special page EmailUser.
Problems while creating a user account?
- I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail.
- You might have entered an incorrect e-mail address, in which case your account must be deleted and you set up a new one. Contact TangoWiki's technical team. Tip: Check your spam folder first.
- I cannot login yet.
- Your account has to be manually confirmed by an administrator. Please allow at least 24 hours for this.
